Here's the latest marketing video from the world's number one cycling country. The Dutch Cycling Embassy has been formed which means our governments and councils can get all the help and information they need in one place.
Absolutely brilliant.
Watch it on full screen mode.

This video is of no relevance to governments and councils in Australia. It violates the most important rule of in Australian bicycle planning and policy: HELMET promotion
ReplyDeleteI suggest the Australian Government send their own video to the Dutchies who obviously need a lesson. This video must champion the successes of Australian bicycle planning including almost 100% helmet law compliance, the successful promotion of hi-viz jackets, the drastic reduction in bicycle accidents through reductions in cycling, the success of "paint bicycles on the road" schemes and so on. Cadel Evans Tour de France win must also be highlighted as evidence of Australian bicycling success with the large amounts of the video devoted to bicycle racing. Another angle is the ever availability of literally 100's of bicycle under Melbourne's bicycle share scheme -- no one need ever wait.
ReplyDeleteI think you're both right. These crazy Dutch people must have a screw loose.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great video.
ReplyDeleteI left the Netherlands 20 years ago and this brings back sweet memories.
Thanks from an old "Amsterdammer"
